Måtte det verk du i människors vimmel
skapar från morgon till aftonglöd,
stå som en lyra mot tidens himmel,
sedan du själv och din gud är död!

🔗 McSweeney’s Internet Tendency: Please Don’t Say Mean Things about the AI That I Just Invested a Billion Dollars In

Guys, enough is enough. Bullying is a serious issue, and it’s time for me to speak out. There’s an extremely hurtful narrative going around that my product, a revolutionary new technology that exists to scam the elderly and make you distrust anything you see online, is harmful to society. This slander is totally unwarranted, and I would really appreciate it if everyone would stop being so mean about this thing I just invested a billion dollars in.

A quick script shows empirically that there’s never more then 3 Friday 13ths in a year. I’m sure there’s a mathematical reason with coprimes and stuff but I’ll just consider it proven.

🇸🇪 Varför finns det ett Nobelpris?

Wikipedia: 1973 Nobel Peace Prize

The 1973 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded jointly to United States Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and Worker’s Party of Vietnam Politburo representative Lê Đức Thọ “for jointly having negotiated a cease fire in Vietnam in 1973.” Thọ declined to accept the prize, and Kissinger accepted in absentia as he did not want to be targeted by anti-war protestors at the event. Kissinger later tried to return the award, but the committee declined his offer.

The 1973 Nobel Peace Prize is often cited as one of, if not the most, controversial in the history of the award. Two members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee resigned in protest, The New York Times referred to it as the “Nobel War Prize”, and Tom Lehrer stated that “political satire became obsolete”.

🇸🇪 För att följa upp från det här inlägget:

vilket exakt brott anser Assange att Nobelstiftelsen begått? Det vore bra om någon i svensk media tog reda på det istället för att bara upprepa Wikileaks pressrelease.

Någon letade fram själva texten i PDF format, daterad 17 dec 2025.

III. LEGAL BASIS UNDER SWEDISH LAW

These provisions apply as the Nobel Foundation is a Swedish entity managing testamentary assets, and disbursements occur under Swedish jurisdiction. Criminal intent (uppsåt) is established by continued payments despite public knowledge of violations, including Machado’s support for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and involvement in U.S. efforts to effect regime change and resource theft in Venezuela by installing the awardee through force.

Redan 19 dec meddelar Omni via AFP att ärendet lagts ner:

Anmälan innehöll ingen information som visade att ett brott har begåtts. Därför inleds ingen förundersökning, uppger Rikard Ekman vid polisen för AFP.

Uppdatering 2026-01-22: Enligt Nobelstiftelsens stadgar, §10:

No appeals may be made against the decision of a prize-awarding body with regard to the award of a prize.

Testamentet i sig är en kort läsning , och det är uppenbart att den tekniska apparaturen kring hur priser bestäms och delas ut lämnas till den eventualla stiftelsen.

The Year of the 3D Printed Miniature (And Other Lies We Tell Ourselves)

For those who had friends in high school—and I’m not being glib here, this is a genuine demographic distinction—40k is a game where two or more players invest roughly $1,000 to build an army of small plastic figures. You then trim excess plastic with a craft knife (cutting yourself at least twice, this is mandatory), prime them, paint them over the course of several months, and then carefully transport them to an LGS (local game shop) in foam-lined cases that cost more than some people’s luggage.

🔗 Seamas O Reilly: 2026, Our Already Rotting Future

Somehow, despite the fact that every single interaction most people have with AI is either laughable incompetence, or brief moments of stolen mirth involving fake funny cats doing fake funny things, we’re trapped in a doom loop in which it is lauded by governments, tech barons, and a desperately inattentive media, all of whom seem hellbent on telling us that this rotted future is what everything will be like forever.

They’re already shipping the body bags
Down by the Rio Grande
But you can fight for democracy at home
And not in some foreign land
